CBSE to Launch Parenting Calendar 2025-26 to Strengthen Parent-Teacher Partnerships

NEW DELHI: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) is set to introduce its Parenting Calendar for the 2025-26 academic session on March 28, 2025, at 4:00 PM IST. This initiative, aimed at enhancing parent-teacher collaboration, will be streamed live on CBSE’s official YouTube channel.

Designed to bridge communication gaps between parents and schools, the Parenting Calendar will provide a structured approach to support students’ mental health, emotional well-being, and academic growth. By promoting active parental involvement, CBSE hopes to create a stronger, more transparent school-home dynamic.

Why This Matters: A Step Towards Holistic Education

This initiative aligns with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes inclusive learning environments and comprehensive student development. The calendar will offer workshops, orientations, and parent-teacher meetings, helping parents better understand and support their children’s educational journey.

A key focus is on adolescents and children with special needs (CWSN), tackling concerns like exam stress, behavioral changes, and major academic transitions. By providing practical tools and guidelines, CBSE aims to empower parents and educators to guide students through these challenges effectively.

The Team Behind the Parenting Calendar

CBSE formed a 10-member expert committee in January 2025 to develop this initiative. The panel, chaired by Anuradha Joshi, Principal of Sardar Patel Vidyalaya, Delhi, included education leaders from renowned institutions across India.

Committee Members:

  • Dr. Swati Popat Vats – President, Podar Education Network, Mumbai
  • Rekha Krishnan – Principal, Vasant Valley School, Delhi
  • Manju Arif – Principal, Delhi Public School, Bangalore North
  • Dr. Nivedita Ganguly – Principal, DAV International School, Ahmedabad
  • Minakshi Kushwaha – Principal, Birla Vidya Niketan, Delhi
  • Richa Agnihotri – Principal, Sanskriti School, Delhi
  • Annie Koshy – Principal, St. Mary’s School, Delhi
  • Dr. Paramjit Singh – Principal, Army Public School, Ambala Cantt
  • Dr. Diganta Haldar – Principal, Sarala Birla Gyan Jyoti, Guwahati

After months of discussions, research, and deliberations, the committee finalized its recommendations on March 15, 2025. These insights shaped the structure and objectives of the Parenting Calendar, ensuring it meets the needs of today’s students and families.
