Maruti Launches Cheapest 5-Star Rated SUV in India

Share

Maruti Suzuki Embraces Smarter Safety: Maruti Suzuki, long known for dependable and fuel-efficient cars, is now making strides in modern safety. The brand is gradually adding advanced safety features to its vehicles, showing a shift in priorities beyond mileage and price.

Fronx Gets ADAS in Indonesia

In a major update, the Fronx compact SUV now comes with Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in Indonesia. This marks the SUV’s first significant tech upgrade outside India, where it’s already a top seller.

What’s New in the Indonesian Fronx?

The Indonesian model packs several safety features designed to assist the driver and prevent accidents. These include:

  • Adaptive Cruise Control
  • Blind Spot Detection
  • Lane Keep Assist
  • Rear Cross-Traffic Alert
  • Lane Departure Warning
  • Hill Hold Assist
  • High Beam Control
  • 360-Degree Camera

These upgrades improve driver awareness and add an extra layer of protection on busy roads.

Is the Indian Fronx Next in Line?

There’s no official word from Maruti yet on bringing ADAS to India. However, the Indonesia launch suggests it could happen soon—especially as safety awareness grows among Indian buyers.

What Powers the Fronx in India?

The Fronx offers three engine options for Indian customers:

  • 1.0-litre Turbo Petrol (99 bhp, 147.6 Nm)
  • 1.2-litre Naturally Aspirated Petrol (89 bhp, 113 Nm)
  • 1.2-litre CNG (76 bhp, 98.5 Nm)

Internationally, the Fronx uses a 1.5-litre petrol engine, the same seen in the Brezza.

Features Already Available in India

The Indian Fronx isn’t short on premium tech. Buyers enjoy:

  • Cruise Control
  • Heads-Up Display
  • Wireless Charging
  • 9-inch Touchscreen
  • Automatic Climate Control
  • 360-Degree Camera

These features offer a high-end feel in a budget-friendly package.

How Much Does It Cost?

In India, the Fronx is priced between ₹8.88 lakh and ₹15.44 lakh (on-road, Mumbai). With its feature list and pricing, it remains one of the most value-driven compact SUVs in its segment.

A Safer, Smarter Future Ahead

As Maruti Suzuki leans into smarter tech and stronger safety, the Fronx is likely to lead the charge. While India hasn’t yet received the ADAS version, the Indonesian upgrade hints that change is on the horizon. Buyers looking for a future-ready SUV should keep an eye on what’s next.
