Available on Android and iOS, RailOne brings live train tracking, e-catering, and more into one app
RailOne App Unifies Railway Services in One Easy-to-Use Platform
On July 1, 2025, Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw launched RailOne, a new all-in-one mobile app designed to modernise railway passenger services in India. Developed by the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS), the app aims to replace the need for multiple railway-related apps by combining key features into a single platform.
Key Features of RailOne – New App by Railways
RailOne is now live on both Android and iOS platforms. It offers a seamless login experience using mPIN or biometric verification. Users can also log in with their existing RailConnect or UTS credentials, making it easy for current users to switch without losing data.
What passengers can do with RailOne:
- Track trains in real time
- Book food via e-catering
- Hire licensed porters
- Book last-mile taxis
- File complaints through an integrated system
- Use the R-Wallet for digital payments
- Get a 3% discount on unreserved and platform tickets
Though RailOne doesn’t support reserved ticket bookings directly, it has official approval from IRCTC, putting it on par with other authorised commercial apps.
PRS System Gets a Major Upgrade for Speed and Scalability
Minister Vaishnaw also highlighted the ongoing revamp of the Passenger Reservation System (PRS) by CRIS. The upgraded PRS will be faster, more flexible, and available in multiple languages.
The system will support:
- 1.5 lakh bookings per minute
- 40 lakh enquiries per minute
- A fare calendar to help plan trips
- Custom booking options for differently abled passengers, students, and patients
- Seat preferences based on user needs
This upgrade will make online bookings smoother, especially during peak seasons or for urgent travel.
New Railway Rules and Fare Revisions Effective from July 1
Along with RailOne’s launch, the Railways has introduced several important changes starting July 1, 2025.
New rules include:
- Aadhaar-verified IRCTC ID is mandatory for Tatkal and emergency bookings to prevent ticketing misuse.
- The first reservation chart will now be prepared 8 hours before departure, instead of the previous 4 hours.
Fare changes:
- Non-AC Mail/Express: ₹0.01 per km increase
- AC class: ₹0.02 per km increase
- No change for suburban, second-class (under 500 km), or season tickets
RailOne Sets the Stage for Smarter Train Travel in India
The launch of RailOne – New App by Railways signals a big leap in digital passenger services. By combining features like train tracking, e-wallets, and support for Apple and Android users, the app delivers convenience in one place.
With new booking protocols, PRS upgrades, and updated fare rules now active, passengers are advised to download RailOne and update their IRCTC accounts with Aadhaar for a hassle-free travel experience.
