Vivo X Fold 5 Debuts with Bold Design and Premium Foldable Features: Vivo has officially introduced its latest foldable smartphone, the Vivo X Fold 5, in China. This sleek new flagship continues Vivo’s expansion in the premium foldable segment and is clearly aimed at challenging top competitors like Samsung.

Large Flexible Displays with Stunning Brightness and Clarity

The device features a 6.53-inch outer screen and a massive 8.03-inch inner display that folds out like a book. Both panels use 8T LTPO technology and support up to 4,500 nits of peak brightness, offering vibrant visuals in any lighting condition.

Both screens refresh at 120Hz, are TÜV Rheinland-certified for eye comfort, and offer Zeiss Master color tuning for enhanced image accuracy. Vivo’s high-frequency PWM dimming also helps reduce eye strain during prolonged use.

Slimmer, Lighter, and Built to Handle Harsh Conditions

Weighing just 217 grams, the Vivo X Fold 5 is lighter and thinner than previous models. It measures 9.2mm when folded and just 4.3mm unfolded, making it one of the slimmest foldables yet.

It boasts IPX8+IPX9 water resistance and IP5X dust protection, making it more durable than many foldable rivals. The device even functions reliably at temperatures as low as -20°C, a rare feature in the category.

Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Powers a Flagship Experience

At its core, the Vivo X Fold 5 runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 processor, delivering flagship-level performance. It comes with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 1TB of UFS 4.1 storage, ensuring fast multitasking and smooth app performance.

The phone ships with OriginOS 5, built on Android 15, offering a clean and responsive user interface.

Powerful Zeiss-Backed Triple Camera System

Vivo teams up with Zeiss again to offer a versatile triple 50MP rear camera setup. This includes:

  • A 50MP main sensor
  • A 50MP ultra-wide camera
  • A 50MP periscope lens with 3x optical zoom and macro support

Selfie fans get not one but two 20MP front-facing cameras, one on each screen, perfect for high-quality selfies and video calls.

Seamless Compatibility with Apple Devices and Services

In a surprise move, Vivo confirmed that the X Fold 5 works with Apple’s ecosystem. Users can sync data across iPhone, AirPods, MacBook, Apple Watch, and even iCloud. This level of compatibility adds major convenience for users switching between platforms.

Strong Battery, Fast Charging, and Smart Security

A 6,000mAh battery keeps the phone powered all day and more. It supports 80W wired and 40W wireless charging, so you won’t be waiting long to top up.

Security is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, offering fast and secure unlocking.

Vivo X Fold 5 Price, Variants, and Availability in China

The Vivo X Fold 5 will be available in Baibai (green), Quingsong (white), and Titanium (black). Four storage variants are offered:

  • 12GB + 256GB – CNY 6,999 (approx. ₹83,800)

Vivo Raises the Bar with Foldable Innovation

With its slim profile, powerful internals, and seamless cross-platform support, the Vivo X Fold 5 stands out in the foldable smartphone market. It combines practical features like water resistance and long battery life with luxury specs and thoughtful design.

If you’re eyeing a foldable device that plays well with both Android and Apple ecosystems, this one could be worth watching—especially as global launch news unfolds.
