Bihar Stipend Scheme – New ‘Mukhya Mantri Pratigya’ Stipend Scheme Offers Financial Aid to Interns : The Bihar government unveiled a key welfare initiative to help young people secure internships and reduce unemployment. Under the Mukhya Mantri Pratigya scheme, eligible youth aged 18 to 28 will receive monthly stipends during internships lasting 3 to 12 months.
The stipend scheme amount depends on educational qualifications:
Those who intern outside their home district get an additional ₹2,000 monthly. For internships outside Bihar, candidates receive ₹5,000 extra per month, capped at three months.
Payments will be directly transferred to beneficiaries’ bank accounts. The scheme’s implementation will be supervised by a committee led by the Development Commissioner.
Bihar also approved the Mukhya Mantri Kalakar Pension Yojana, providing ₹3,000 monthly pensions to senior artists aged 50 and above. Eligible artists must have contributed to traditional or classical arts for at least 10 years and earn less than ₹1.2 lakh annually.
The Mukhya Mantri Guru-Shishya Parampara Yojana aims to protect endangered art forms by funding mentorships. Under this program:
A budget of ₹1.11 crore supports this initiative.
The government widened benefits of the Mukhya Mantri Chikitsa Sahayta Kosh, now including Panchayati Raj Institution members. This fund offers financial aid from ₹20,000 to ₹3 lakh for surgeries like cancer, heart, and kidney transplants.
Bihar amended the Factory Rules of 1950 to permit women to work in hazardous factories, excluding pregnant and lactating mothers. This move aims to increase women’s employment opportunities in industrial sectors.
The Cabinet also approved allowances for retired chief justices and high court judges. They will receive up to ₹60,000 per month for domestic help and ₹15,000 for telecom reimbursements.
The Rs 11,000 stipend under the Mukhya Mantri Pratigya scheme offers crucial financial relief to interns, encouraging skill development and job readiness. Combined with pensions and mentorships, Bihar is investing in youth employment and cultural heritage.
These measures can improve economic conditions and preserve traditional arts, benefiting multiple communities across the state.
